Marine Diesel Engine Basics

In a common marine diesel engine the power is produced by hot compressed air igniting excite sprayed under very high pressure into the cylinder head. Mercedes-Benz to add 2.2L diesel to next gen SLK roadster

While most other automakers have been patronage away from plans to introduce new diesel engines to the U.S. market in recent months, the big German makers - VW-Audi, BMW and Mercedes Benz - seem fully committed to oil burners. That's doubtlessly because the modern diesels provide the performance levels needed to justify the premium image those brands have cultivated for themselves while at the same time providing the levels of nuclear fuel efficiency that are needed to meet current and upcoming sustenance efficiency standards. With that in mind, Mercedes Benz appears set to decline a diesel engine into the SLK roadster when the next redesign appears in early 2010. The recently-introduced 2.2L four will qualified provide power for the SLK250. In dual turbo texture, the engine generates 204 hp and a massive 369 lb-ft of torque which is mountains for the little SLK. The C250 sedan that just launched in Europe with the same mechanism gets a combined rating of 45.3 mpg (U.S.) and should be able to accomplish real world mileage in the upper 30s with ease.

Guilty for Repair/Services/Maintenance/Defect inquest of Detroit, Volvo, Cummins, Caterpillar Diesel Engines and other ample pump systems. Maintain the Pump units/DieselOn the wholeEngines while on hire on offsite job locations including dry docks, ships, offshore installations, etc. Accompany and rectify on site breakdown incidents. On notwithstanding requisition of materials to ensure the timely termination of jobs. Optimum utilization of spares andAs a rulematerials. Ferrari Opposes Diesel Engines for Future Cars

Ferrari has resolutely closed the door on the prospect of using diesel engines in its cars to give a new lease of their environmental performance, in spite of plans to do so by rivals Lamborghini and Porsche, writes Andrew English.


“Diesel is not a supervising in which we want to go,” said Ferrari chief official Amedeo Felisa at the launch of the new California model, fist, last week. “It is not in our five-year strategic plan and I don’t regard as diesel is an answer to the problem.”

The Ferrari boss does grant, however, that there will have to be major changes to its engine design if it is to meet its avaricious target of a 40 per cent reduction in carbon dioxide emissions from an general of about 400g/km to 280-300g/km by 2012.

Its recent espousal of large-understanding, naturally aspirated engines will be dropped in favour of smaller, more economic units, perhaps with hybrid systems developed from its experience in Means One. Ferrari’s last turbocharged road car was the 1987 twin-turbo, 2.9-litre V8 F40.
